How to use an astringent skin toner in your skin care routine

We all learned that to have attractive skin we must first determine what type of skin that we and have to wash and moisturize the face accordingly. However, another very important step in keeping the skin clean and toned is to use an astringent skin toner between washing and moisturizing your face.

Astringents are commonly referred to as tonics and are mainly used to remove oils and tighten skin. Natural ingredients such as green tea, witch hazel, calendula, chamomile, yarrow, nettle, sage oil and avocado oil, are the basis for many of the most gentle and effective astringent. Sometimes, alcohol-based astringents are used to clean oily skin, but may be too drying and strip skin of essential oils it needs for maximum health.

A skin toner really effective astringent should improve the circulation in the skin tissue and lead them to tighten control surface oil and lower the pH of the skin after cleansing. The toner prepares your skin by eliminating all traces of makeup and the remains of open pores before applying a moisturizer. You can determine the type of astringent choose according to your skin type and needs. Astringent can be used to calm and soothe irritated skin, promote healing and remove excess oils to prevent blackheads and potential defects, as well as firming the skin to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, prevent sagging tissue and improve the overall appearance of the skin,

First, you should wash your face with a gentle cleanser that suits your skin type, whether dry, normal, combination, oily or sensitive. Avoid harsh cleansers or soaps that could strip the skin, especially as you have that extra cleaning step of applying an astringent. Dry your face with a soft, clean towel, preferably natural materials. Use a cotton ball or soft cloth to apply toner to your face with soft features, first on the T-zone, then lightly on your cheeks. Let dry astringent on the surface of your skin and apply a moisturizer. You will find that your skin seems more receptive to moisturizer and absorbs quickly. Also, using a toner inhibits oil surface of the skin and prevents breakouts. This three-step process of cleaning should be done twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening.

The daily use of an astringent skin toner helps to make your skin clean, clear and healthy. By tightening the skin and remove surface oils and bacteria, you can dramatically improve your complexion.
