Try using a sheer mineral powder. Neutrogena and Physicians Formula both make good one. I prefer the Neutrogena. They are great for oily skin and will not cause breakouts. Powders are good for absorbing oil and reducing shine. I would not recommend washing your face 3-5 times a day though. Morning, night and, if necessary, occasionally in the afternoon. Over washing will can overstimulate your face to produce more oil or have the reverse effect and cause dryness. I would use a gentle soap like Neutrogena for oily skin (bar or liquid) and an astringent or witch hazel.
i’m thinking your skin is oily recently because it’s now summer and not necessarily the powder you used. you should try a blotting powder or the oil blotting sheets. there is also a mattefying product you can use before you put powder on. here are some links…
Fatmah you should ONLY wash your face twice a day at the MOST. It is bad for you skin if you wash it more than that and you will acutally be “tricking” your face by washing it too much and this will produce even MORE oil than you had before.
Even if you face is oily, you must use a moisturizer…..one for oily faces. Try using a loose powder instead of a pressed powder……it is better for oily skin.
Search for a company called Bee Luscious Cosmetics and start using their Papaya Enzyme skincare products it works to balance your skin to perfection, also their mineral liquid powder foundation is so amazing it melts into your own skin color. Simply the best products I have ever used and they have helped my skin incredibly.
I use Mineral Girlz because it helps with all types of skin types. I have oily parts and dry parts of my skin and when I started using Mineral Girlz it made my face look and feel so much healthier.
I, too, have oily skin. I cleanse with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser. I use witch hazel as an astringent. It really controls oil. I love MAC matte gel. I put it on under make-up or powder and it really controls the shine.
Sorry, Fatma, but washing your face all the time strips the natural oils from your skin. To compensate, your skin will produce MORE oil. Use a facial cleanser and toner for oily skin and be sure to use a light moisturizer with SPF. If you get oily during the day, use some oil wipes for your face. They are basically just pieces of paper that you rub on your face and it blots the oil up. You can get them at the store where they sell face products.
Are you using a toner? I found that when I wasn’t using a toner after washing and before moisturizing I would get more oily throughout the day and I learned that it’s because water isn’t the same pH as skin and so using a pH correct toner gets my skin back to its normal pH so that it doesn’t have to overcompensate during the day, making it oily. You also can use a personalizer powder to get rid of the oily spots during the day.
